Lab Activity 5: Bright Light Spectrum of Various Gases

Objective:

To identify unknown samples of gas.  In this lab you will design your own procedures to successfully accomplish the goal of determining the characteristic band pattern emitted by a certain gas when electrically excited.  Using this data, you will then reference the table below to positively match the unknown sample with the known samples below.

Spectrometer, Various unknown samples of gas lights.
